OLD TOWN – Lillian M. Richards, 89, passed away April 5, 2012. She was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Stockholm, the daughter of Rodney Wilson and Mabel Provost.

Lillian grew up in the Old Town area and she worked for many years as a last operator at Ounegan Woolen Mill.

Lillian is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Arthur P. Richards Sr.; three children, Brenda McAuliffe, Linda Rustin and her husband, Thomas Sr., and Rick Richards and his wife, Allyson; 11 grandchildren, Bobby, Christine, David, Tammy, Thomas Jr., Laurie, Karen, Jason, Kelly, Kirk and Miles Jr.; many great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Francis, in 2000; and grandson, Timmy, in 1968. The family expresses a special thank you to the staff at Penobscot Terrace, where she lived for many years, Dr. Ritter and his staff, and the staff at the Meadows for all of their kind and compassionate care they gave to Lillian.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Holy Family Church of the Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, 429 Main St., Old Town. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town. All are invited to a light reception after the burial in the parish hall.
