BLAINE – Irene Lunn, 92, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at Aroostook Health Center, Mars Hill. She was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Upper Wicklow, New Brunswick, the daughter of Purl and Mildred Gee Sr.
Irene worked alongside her husband Kilburn on the family farm for many years and also raised their six children. She was a longtime member of Faith Baptist Chapel, Blaine, and played the piano there for many years.
She is survived by four sons, Robert and his wife, Gail, of Fort Fairfield, Kenneth and his wife, Judy, of Mars Hill, Paul “Burton” and his wife, Sherry, of Presque Isle and Thomas and his wife, Valerie, also of Presque Isle; a daughter, Betty Scovil and her husband, Dalton, of Blaine; and five siblings, Troy Gee of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Thomas Rankin Gee and his wife, Marilyn, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Helen Dowling of Vancouver, British Columbia, Jack Gee of Alberta and Purl Gee Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of Strathroy, Ontario. She will also be missed by her 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Wayne Lunn and his wife, Patti. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kilburn; a daughter, Marilyn Lunn; and five siblings, Evelyn Tracy, Ida and Malcolm Gee, and infant twin brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Chapel with Pastors Lawrence Beals and Vincent Morneault officiating.
Friends may call noon until the time of service at the church.
After the service a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall. Interment will take place at a later date at East Blaine Cemetery.
