CARIBOU – Barbara Cray Kelly, 82, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012, at a Van Buren nursing home with her family by her side. Barbara was born April 28, 1929, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Freeman and Ada (Barker) Cray.
Barbara worked for many years as a certified nurse’s aide, and was a faithful member of Bethel Pentecostal Church, Caribou. Barbara enjoyed reading, quilting, needlework and her flower beds. She loved doing group activities, especially with the church. She was a wonderful cook and loved baking sweets.
Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses, Brenda and Louis McNeal of Caribou, Christina Kelly of Caribou, Betty and Michael Chase of Oakland and Scott and Monika Kelly of Limington.
She also leaves behind her sisters, Phyllis Cray of North Anson, Lois and Donald Kimball of Skowhegan, Helen and John Libby of Corinth and Joan Braley of Harmony. In addition, she leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Philip Kelly; sons, David and James Kelly; a granddaughter, Jill Kelly; and brothers, Zane and Albert Cray.
