BLUE HILL and SEDGWICK – James Elmer Carter, 65, son of Franklin and Louise (Pert) Carter, passed away peacefully April 10, 2012, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Donald Carter; daughter, Virginia Carter; and wife, Missy Carter. He is survived by his son, Roy Carter and wife, Becky; sister, Nellie Madison; grandchildren, Ben Moore and partner, Jasmine Stevens, Nettie Carter, Bethany Dionne and partner, Chad Dostie, and JD Dionne; great-grandchildren, Halen Moore and Harmony Dostie; many nieces and nephews. The family greatly appreciates the love and support from special friends, Rachelle, Kathy, Suzanne, Arthur, Georgine and Katey for helping with his care during the past years. The family also thanks Blue Hill Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care during the past few days and to Bangor and Togus Veterans administrations for the wonderful care during the past few years.

A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the home of Roy and Becky Carter, 2184 Coastal Road, Brooksville. If directions are needed, please contact Becky Carter. In lieu of flowers, gifts will be accepted to assist with his final expenses by mailing to Becky Carter, P.O. Box 1554, Blue Hill, ME 04614. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
