BANGOR, Maine — A Hermon man whose bail conditions prohibit him from drinking was arrested early Thursday after leaving a local nightclub, according to police.

Ryan Robinson, 29, was charged with violating conditions of release, a Class E misdemeanor, according to Bangor police Sgt. Chip Hodges.

Hodges said Sgt. Gerry Higgins was working security detail at Barnaby’s on Odlin Road when he urged Robinson, who appeared intoxicated, not to drive upon leaving the club just after 1 a.m.

Robinson subsequently got into a taxicab after the club closed, and when police confirmed his identity, the cab was pulled over on Interstate 395 and Robinson was arrested, Hodges said.

Robinson was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and later released on bail.

  1. Setting a restriction like this for a Bangor area person and expecting him to adhere to it is akin to leaving a pot of taxpayer money in a room full of Democrats and expecting them not to take it.

    1. I’ll bet that non of the taxes in your hypothetical pot came from a tax-break-for-the-rich republican.

    1. True! I think that they didnt completely finish this story cause why wait til he gets in a cab?  At least he didnt drive though! :)
