BANGOR, Maine — A man who tried to order food from a McDonald’s drive-through window was arrested Thursday when an employee suspected the man was drunk, according to police.
The employee called the police on Jedidiah Rambo, 26, of Bangor when he went through the Broadway restaurant’s drive-through window just after 3 p.m. Thursday, Bangor police Sgt. Garry Higgins said Friday.
The employee smelled alcohol on the man when he paid for his order, and saw him vomiting out his truck as he waited for his food, according to Higgins. Police stopped Rambo’s vehicle as it left McDonald’s.
Rambo failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested. Higgins wouldn’t say exactly what Rambo’s blood alcohol level was, only that it was nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08.
Rambo, who has two prior OUI convictions, was taken to Penobscot County Jail and later released on bail.

as good as it was for the employee to call the police I hope he at least got a manager to take care of it for him, otherwise he will probably lose his job because big corporations don’t want anyone to take actions on anything in that situation.
Im gonna make sure I tell all my drunk friends not to go through the Bangor drive through, go inside instead
Is this what big corporations told you?
Did he get to bring his BIG MAC and fries to jail with him?
He should thank the kid at McDonalds. He may have saved his life and someone elses.
It was the manager
I hope he get’s a free meal …(somewhere else).
As a once employee of mcdonalds, I am sure it was a manager that called it in but certainly was not a manager who first reported it since they very very rarely work the actual drive through. So.. thank the kid at McDonalds.
Really, everytime i am at mcdonalds a manager is at drive through window
He may have been vomiting at the thought of his soon to be delivered meal.
I called the cops on 2 people that was sooo drunk they fell several times before getting in there car, and it was the same time kids was getting off the bus, I called 2 times the 2nd time I called they said they didnt receive the first call, u know what happened?……….. NOTHING, welcome to downeast maine!
bangor isnt even close to downeast! has anyone ever refered to bangor as downeast?
I think they might be talking about a different incidence at a different mcdonalds than bangor.
you don’t know nothing happened,,the cops are not going to report to you anyhow.ellsworth pd or the shariff dept would not have let the oppertunity to nail a drunk driver go by.
Rambo knows better….at McDonalds you’re Expendable…
which mcdonalds was it i need to tell some of my alcholic freinds which one not to go to anyone know
The article says which McDonalds it was.. Are you drunk ?
I worked drive thru years ago. Saw a lot of funny and appalling things.
he didnt want any trouble, he just wanted something to eat, just like in first blood, thankfully he didnt head up the mountain and hide out in the abandon mine
I usually puke AFTER eating at the Golden Arches.
Perhaps the thing to do is to take drugs, not alcohol, so the McDonald cop is clueless!!
Perhaps the smarter thing to do is not get behind the wheel of a car under any type of drug, alchohol or otherwise? whatta ya think?
Rambo was just trying to grab a bite to eat and head through town.
Nice of the BDN to tell the guy who ratted him out…
Dats what i was thinking. Public humiliation is never good. This could have been dun wtihout having to name names.
Great job Mcdonalds worker. you saved many lives!!!
Is it just me or what? He has TWO prior OUI convictions and gets released on bail? WTF? Do we have to wait until someone gets killed to be outraged?
Well, we are more than allowed to be, OURAGED, as you mentioned. However, you will have to wait for at least a vehicular homicide before you can expect any REAL jail time. You just gotta love the Maine court system….but remember the commercials, they are tough on drunk drivers, their wallets, that is.
I thought the same way , he shouldn’t have been released . I guess that I am confused as I believe there is a 3 strike law in Maine.

Well that shows one thing, don’t puke out of your car window when ordering food through a drive-through.
Yeah, usually people puke AFTER they eat there.
A lot of these comments are injecting or try too…some humor into the situation…..the sad part is most of these scumbags are repeat offenders for OUI…..I’d report them too, and have on many….myself and my family are on the local roads in Bangor, and I’d rather this “trash” kill themselves than another innocent family going about life on a daily basis, and besides, going thru the court system as a repeat offend for OUI and getting a slap on the wrist, Well, I’d have to take matters in my own hands then to remove these scumbag addicted trash losers off the street, and honestly I have other things pressing that are more important than wasting my time on them. Kuddos McD. employee for reporting them, I hope you get promoted and not terminated, there are many lawyers who would be glad to handle your case PRO BONO if you do…..good luck
I wonder if they sobered him up before releasing him on bail.
Good job young person! Thank you for stepping up. I agree with WESTSHORES it could have been my family you saved from that drunk driver!
Good job kiddo! I don’t usually favor calling authorities, but in this case you were right on target…. Hope you get employee of the month!
Thank you for making the roads safer.
I’d turn into an alcoholic too if I had a name like that.
