BANGOR – Eleanor L. Smedburg, 76, died April 10, 2012, at a Hampden residence after a long illness. She was born Aug. 29, 1935, in Bradford, daughter of Carleton and Mable (Bailey) Henderson.
She had resided at the Freese’s Building, Bangor, for the past 11 years, where she had many good friends including a special friend, Sarah Cottle. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, music and most of all her friends.
She is survived by a son, William and his wife, Cathy, of Levant; two sisters, Betty Porter of Lakeville and Christina Thomas of Bangor; two brothers, Lloyd Henderson of Bangor and Rodney Henderson of Portland, Ore.; granddaughter, Kris; great-granddaughter, Brooke; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Eleanor was predeceased by sister, Rosalie; and
brother, Glendon.
A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Waugh Cemetery, Levant. The family invites friends and relatives to join them after the service at the Freese’s Building, 28 Merchants Plaza, Bangor.
