– Anita (Lizotte) Chasse, 87, passed away peaceably of natural causes April 14, 2012, at a Madawaska health care facility with her family by her side. She was born April 30, 1924, in Madawaska, daughter of Victorie and Azeline (Michaud) Lizotte.

She married Albert P. Chasse, Dec. 26, 1945, and shared 65 years together in St. Agatha, until his passing in 2010. Anita was a lifelong resident of St. Agatha, where she was married and raised three of her surviving children, James, Linda and Richard. Anita never stood still, she always wanted to do things. For many years she sold Avon products to help with the household income. Also, for many years she diligently gave her time to work at St. Agatha Rectory while assisting to the needs of the parish community. She was a 40-plus year lifelong member of Woman’s Auxiliary, Frenchville. At the grand age of 63, she started working for Aroostook County Action Program, assisting the elderly and those most in need, until she really retired at age 80! She loved to garden with her loving husband, Albert, especially attending to the beautiful flowers around their house and garden.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kendra and Derek Chasse; and daughter-in-law, Carol. Anita is the sole surviving member of her family; she had eight brothers and two sisters, all of whom have predeceased her, Oneil, Albert, Hector, Alex, Raoul, Cecil (Clavette), Zephirin, Rita (Landry), Roger and Richard. Anita will be sorely missed, especially by her family and her loving friends. She was a loving and caring wife and mother, who gave her all for her husband, children and community. The Chasse family extends their eternal gratitude to the nurses, nurse’s assistants, staff and everyone at High View Manor who assisted and cared for Anita. These professionals are to be commented on the diligence, care and empathy they showed and provided to Anita for the four-plus years she resided at the home. Her end of life care was extraordinary and the family members will be forever grateful.

Viewing hours will be held 6-8 p.m. April 17 and 8:30-9:30 a.m. April 18 at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. Services will be held 10 a.m. April 18 at St. Agatha Catholic Church with the Rev.
