BANGOR, Maine — A 23-year-old Bangor man was arrested last week after Bangor police officers were called to handle a fight on Grove Street.
When they arrived at the location, officers determined that Kirk DePhilippo, whom police say is a transient, was wanted on an active warrant and that he was in possession of a white powder believed to be bath salts.
DePhilippo was taken to Penobscot County Jail on the warrants and on a charge of unlawful possession of a synthetic hallucinogen.
DePhilippo’s April 11 arrest was his second so far this year. A resident of Glenburn at that time, he led a Bangor police officer on a brief foot chase on Main Street after a traffic stop. DePhilippo’s driver’s license was suspended at the time and he was charged with being a habitual offender of state motor vehicle laws.

BDN…Please do a follow up on the Bangor Humane Society big give away weekend. How many animals returned to the shelter? Is the shelter still empty? Way better news then another transient/bath salt/non story. Your paper, my thought.
Yes! I’m sick of reading about the same things every single day. How depressing! More Bangor Humane Society, please!
How about a story on blocking readers and posters on this site without explanation. There seems to be a lot of that going on from what I hear and for some strange reason different rules apply to different posters. I have read the terms of service and although abrupt at times, never violated them.
Whatever, block me and I’ll stop wasting my time.
A lot of mine have been blocked for no apparent reason also!
It’s the “common sense” part that is the subjective way of blocking.
If you refrain from name-calling and otherwise follow the guidelines and common sense your comments will not get deleted.
20 dogs 5 cats, does that answer your question still more coming back as ofyesterday
That’s very sad 8(
Are you connected somehow to the shelter? I’m wondering if the problems were behavioral, changes in the owners’ lives, not adapting well, etc. My mother has two rescue dogs, one of which was returned to the shelther SIX times…everyone had a different excuse. He’s turned out to be a great dog. It seems many people adopt on a whim, not considering the time/commitment required and then change their minds. :(
No connection at all, i was taking two strays that were left in one of my apartments. 6 of the dogs were sick and the other ones were just not friendly like they said they were, the cats i do not know.
not another bath salt “story”… way to go BDN!
BDN: Article states the person was arrested earlier this year, however when you click on the link, it takes you to an article dated Feb 2011. You really need to report the facts accurately.
Thanks for letting us know. In the future, please report corrections at http://bangor-launch.newspackstaging.com/corrections/report/ so we can fix any errors as quickly as possible.
Has any of these people been caught taking a bath…………………………..with bath salts.
