LEVANT – Robert H. “Bob” King Sr., 64, passed into the waiting arms of Jesus Monday, April 23, 2012, at a Bangor hospital with his family at his side. He was born Oct. 30, 1947, in Newport, son of Harold E. and Sybil A. (Rines) King.
He lived most of his life in Levant where he married, lived and raised his family. Bob had various jobs in his lifetime including working for Bangor Tire Co. and C.E. Noyes changing every tire imaginable and finally finding the job he loved working for Uniship.
They were his second family and a huge part of his life. The King family cannot express in words the appreciation felt from the kindness shown to all of us by his Uniship family.
Bob’s memory will be carried on by his loving wife of 42 years, Annie (Sprague) King of Levant; and his children, Kathy A. Picken and her husband, Richard, of Carmel, Laurie A. Ashman and her husband, John, of Levant and Robert H. King Jr. and his wife, Marjorie, of Bangor. Bob had eight grandchildren that were shining points in his life and were all very, very special to him. He was predeceased by grandsons, James C. McPhearson III and Richard Picken Jr.; and is survived by Maureen Klink, Tyler Klink, Rachel Ashman, John Ashman Jr. and Nelson and Mason King. Bob was part of a wonderful family and was predeceased by his brother, Rodney Rines of Levant. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Rines and his wife, Marie, of Barrington, N.H.; two sisters, Doris Alley of Surry and Elizabeth Goodwin and her husband, Roy, of Holden; his uncle, Cyrus King of Lincoln and his cousins on that side; his in-laws, including his mother-in-law, Virginia Sprague of Levant; sisters-in-law, Linda Albert and her husband, Raymond, of Benedicta, Elaine Neilander and her husband, Robert, of Hampden, Amber Young and her husband, Skip, of Glenburn, Cindy Jones and her partner, Richard, of Hermon and Phyllis Wolfe and her husband, Tom, of Glenburn; and brothers-in-law, Danny Sprague and his wife, Judy, of Farmington and Christopher Sprague of Levant. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, James C. McPhearson Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Dennis and Tim Lockwood, Jerry Kirkwood and Louis Alley.

5-7 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A graveside service and burial will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Waugh Cemetery, Levant, with Pastor Garnett Chute and Pastor Alman Emerson presiding.
