BANGOR – Patricia (Farnsworth) Feeney died April 25, 2012, with her loving family by her side at a local hospital. She was born April 22, 1933, in Bangor, daughter of George D. and Dorothy (Bolduc) Farnsworth.
She was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1951. Patricia married Linwood “Mickey” Feeney, Aug. 18, 1951, choosing to marry young instead of following her parents’ wishes of continuing her education. They were married for 60 years. Patricia loved being a homemaker and spending her time raising her four children, Karen, Christopher, Scott and Laurel. She loved cooking and entertaining and especially her time at Pushaw Lake, where from the age of 10 until her death, she spent enjoyable summers with family. She especially loved the Fourth of July at the lake, such a fun memorable time. Christmas was also a favorite of hers and became even more so after the birth of her grandchildren, Kaitlen and Christopher. She traveled with Mickey throughout his military career and spent many years wintering in Destin, Fla. Family was always first with her and she treasured her memories of her Nana Bolduc, Sissy Bev, Uncle Pat, Cousin George and all family members that predeceased her. So many happy times. Duplicate bridge was a big part of her life and in her younger years she became involved in district 25 unit 189 of Maine. Patricia served on the board of directors, served as president for two years and became director of Downeast Bridge Club and Community Afternoon Bridge Club.
She was predeceased by parents, George D. and Dorothy Farnsworth; brother, Charles O. Farnsworth; and sister, Beverly J. Martin. Surviving are her husband, Col. Linwood K. Feeney, retired U.S. Army; daughter, Karen Feeney and Cheryl Paulson of Hermon; son, Christopher Feeney and wife, Connie, of Mississippi; son, Scott Feeney; and daughter, Laurel Feeney, both of Bangor; sisters-in-law, Lois Farnsworth and Jerry Parsons; brother-in-law, Kern Feeney and his wife, Marion; and special cousins, Harold Hall, Bruce Farnsworth, Ann Rosebush and Carolyn Williams.
“No tears please, just smile and carry on the happy times!” Love you all, P. In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at a later date, time and place to be announced. Those who wish to remember Patricia in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Eastern Maine Healthcare Charities, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931 or a charity of one’s choice.
