DEDHAM, Maine — Prescription medication, some portable electronic devices, a credit card and loose change were among items stolen this weekend from several unlocked vehicles at properties on Upper Dedham Road, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.

About eight vehicles in all were burglarized late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, Richard Bishop, chief deputy of the department, said Monday morning. One was on MIller Road, he said, but the rest were on Upper Dedham Road.

Bishop said several bottles of prescription medications were stolen from one of the vehicles. A digital camera, an iPod and a credit card also were reported stolen from other vehicles. None of the vehicles was damaged during the burglary spree, he said.

The case remains under investigation, he said. Anyone with possible information about the burglaries is asked to contact the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department at 667-7575.

  1. It amazes me that people still don’t lock their cars.  I guess these car owners will from now on.

    1. I don’t think you should have to lock your car door in your drive way. I think the problem stems from laziness and wanting everything for free and needing money to support illeagal drug habits! People need to get up and get jobs. That being said there are jobs out there they may not pay $12/hr like everyone wants but BEGGERS can not be choosers!.

      1. I always lock my car doors, regardless of where it’s parked.  I typically lock my door when I get home from work if I’m there by myself or after dark.  Sad but true – it can’t hurt anything.

        1. I do not lock my car doors but I am vigilant to never leave anything in my car I want to be there when I get back.. Windows are too exepensive to replace if someone decides they need the 50 pennies in my change cubby.

      2. I’m curious-do you lock your house? If the answer is yes, what’s the difference in locking one and not the other.

  2. If you don’t lock your car,you get what you deserve.A credit card? This person is really asking to get burned!

  3. If the courts would actually punish the thieves instead of a slap on the hand there wouldn’t be so many burglaries.
