VEAZIE – Lola “Lorie” Savage Ingersoll died May 3, 2012, at her home. Lorie was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Columbia, the daughter of Lola (Wallace) and Guilford Savage.
She was educated in Columbia and Columbia Falls schools. She and her husband raised their family in South Addison and spent 18 years in Apopka, Fla., before returning to Maine and living first in Brunswick and for the last four years at Veazie Village Apartments.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Elliott P. Ingersoll; her daughter, Priscilla I. Bird and husband, Kent, of South Portland; her son, Michael E. Ingersoll and wife, Iona Crowley, of Brewer; four grandchildren, Jason P. Kelley of Portland, Kristin L. Taggart and husband, Joshua, of Traverse City, Mich., Beth C. Ingersoll of Arlington, Vt., and Todd Ingersoll of Salt Lake City; stepgrandchildren, Tracy Willette and wife, Christine, of Brewer and Kyle Willette and wife, Kim, of Bangor; five great-grandchildren, seven great-stepgrandchildren; her brother, Guy Savage of Cousins Island; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and six brothers and sisters, Walter Savage, Edna Savage, Jennie Bigger, Margaret Belyea, Raymond Savage and Helen Lydon.
A service is planned 2 p.m. May 12 at Veazie Congregational Church, where friends and family will be welcomed. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Veazie Congregational Church, 1404 State St., Veazie, ME 04401.
