CARMEL – Georgie “Ma” Woodard, 89, died May 5, 2012, at her home after a long illness. She was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Orono, the daughter of William and Catherine (Maher) Allum.

She was educated in Orono schools. She was the wife of Malcolm R. Woodward, who predeceased her in January 1984. Georgie, or as everyone affectionately called her “Ma,” raised 12 children.

She is survived by four sons, Gerald Bell of Florida, Thomas Bell of Carmel, Ronald Woodard of Carmel and Malcolm Woodard Jr. of Corinth; four daughters, Diana Robishaw of Newburgh, Joyce Dearborn of Etna, Charmaine Shaw of Etna and June Stanley of Newport; a half brother, Harold Allum of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Cathy Lindsey of Carmel; 33 grandchildren, many, many great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four sons, James Woodard, Douglas Woodard, William Woodard and Gene Woodard; and three sisters, Betty, Tillie and Vera. Ma loved everyone with all her heart.

At Georgie’s request, there are no services planned at this time. Friends who wish may make memorial donations in Georgie’s name to Carmel Fire Department and Ambulance Squad, P.O.
