ORONO – Khan Van Dang, 74, passed away May 9, 2012, in California, due to a stroke. He was born in 1938 in HaNam, Vietnam.
He met his wife, Thuy Dang, who predeceased him, at a U.S. Air Force base, where both were supporting the American troops during the Vietnam War. Khan sought refuge for his family in America. Thanks to four local churches, the Dang family arrived in Orono in 1979.
Khan is survived by three children, Trang, Tan and Trinh; and seven grandchildren, Madeleine, Max, Amir, Janine, John, Michael and Judy.
