AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Gov. Paul LePage has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff to honor police officers.
LePage issued the directive that’ll be in effect from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday.
He says the lowering of the flags is in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week. The president also issued a proclamation to that effect.

Thank-you to all law enforcement officers for your work and service and thanks to all who work in support of these officers on a daily basis…..may you all be safe……
Great job for Mr. Lepage honoring the police.
Yes he ordered it, but probably after having heard about the article where it was difficult to recruit new police officers.. he probably thinks will prove he cares… NOT!
Come on now Sadie, LePage is ordering the flags be flown half-mast. Couldn’t you give the guy a break instead of trying to turn a positive into a negative for political reasons. Shame on you.
I wondered how long it would be for a someone to bring something down that was good.
since when did lepage become presidant think you need to go back a few steps
God bless the soldiers may they rest in peace.
Thank you Gov for honoring these
men and women.
It’s good to know that Lepage and our Prez see eye to eye on yet another issue.
Since 1789, we’re still here and always will be.
