TOBIQUE FIRST NATION, New Brunswick – Christina Gagnon passed away unexpectedly May 14, 2012, at her home. Christina was born Sept. 3, 1934, in Tobique First Nation, New Brunswick, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Francis) Sappier.
She leaves behind her daughters, Diane Stavnesli and Bernd, of Fort Myers, Fla., Barbara Schmitz and Gary of Laconia, N.H., Carol Dickinson of Tobique, New Brunswick, Suzanne Parker and Rick of Bangor, and Laura Gagnon of Tobique, New Brunswick; sons, Vernon Gagnon and Amy of Woolwich, Ronald Gagnon and Janet of Caribou, and Donald Gagnon and Ann of Connor Township; brother, Peter Sappier of Tobique, New Brunswick; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Richard Gagnon; son, Richard Michael Gagnon Jr.; sisters, Mary Jane, Barbara, Agnes, Florence and Milly Anne; and brothers, Walter, Danny and Clarence.
Resting with visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, New Brunswick. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 18, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Tobique First Nation, New Brunswick, with Father Curtis Sappier celebrating. Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery.
