BANGOR – Harold Winslow Wilson, 86, died May 17, 2012, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born April 4, 1926, in Long Pond, son of Winslow S. and Lucy (Elliott) Wilson.
Harold was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, honorably discharged in 1946. From 1950 to 1980 he owned and operated Wilson Television, Bangor, and in 2003 he retired from Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department, after 23 years of service. Harold was a member and past master of St. Andrews Lodge No. 83 AF & AM, Bangor, and past most wise master of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Bangor. He was also a member of Anah Shriners.
Surviving are one son, David W. Wilson and his wife, Jacqueline, of Dover-Foxcroft; one daughter, Pamela Burt of Hartland; one granddaughter, Tiffany Wilson of Old Town; the mother of his children, Patricia Wilson; a sister, Kathleen Whitten of Brewer; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Eleanor Duran; and two brothers, Winfield Wilson and Kenneth Wilson.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Ray Beless, pastor of Abbot Evangelical Free Church, officiating.
