NORTHEAST HARBOR and ELLSWORTH – Richard “Dick” Graves, 77, died May 17, 2012, after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Bar Harbor, the youngest son of Malcolm Sr. and Lillian (Falkenstrom) Graves.

Dick attended schools in Northeast Harbor. He owned and operated Dick’s Body Shop for 27 years. In 1990 he and his wife moved to Trenton, where he pursued other jobs.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Jane (Blackwood) Graves; his daughter, Beth and husband, John Partridge, of Ellsworth; his two sons, Richard Graves and his wife, Keri, of Montana and Keith Graves and his wife, Nancy, of Town Hill; grandchildren, Jensen Rich of Somesville, Jordan Rich of Trenton, Oksana, Eric and Tess Graves of Town Hill; his brother, Malcolm Graves Jr. of Lisbon, Conn.; his sister, Nancy Trask of Old Saybrook, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Betty Fish and Dottie Clark; and his brother, Robert M. Graves.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Northeast Harbor. Remembrances may be donations in Dick’s memory to SPCA of Hancock County. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
