  1. It pays to shop around for a mortgage refinance. Mortgage rates have gone down like anything. My brother in law just got a 30-year fixed loan at 3.76% He told me search online for 123 Refinance for the lowest rate.

  2. I find this information to be misleading and false. Foreclosures and short sales in Maine are rampant.

    1. Also heard that many sales are second homes going to people paying cash.  Not a lot of first time buyer activity.

    2. That is for sure.  They are advertised like they are for sale, but then try to get one!

Gotta love the banks.  You offer to do THEM a favor by paying a very reasonable amount for a stone around their necks, and they treat you like YOU’RE picking THEIR pockets.

  3. I’m having to do a short sale b/c I can’t sell my house for what is owed let alone what it is worth.  Home sales may be up but that’s b/c of all the short sales and foreclosures and people are able to buy houses for a lot less than they’re worth.

  4. A friend of mine’s house was taken due to foreclosure. He bought it for $60,000.His wife and him got layed off and he tried to work a deal to refinance and wanted to keep the house. They said ,”no”.Then after they sold it for $25,000. Banks are crooks. No wonder sales are going up when they do stuff like that.
