EDDINGTON – Rose M. Wheelden, 84, went home to be with her Lord May 26, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 10, 1928, in Rhode Island, the daughter of Duncan and Teresa (Norton) MacDonald.
Rose was a friend to everyone she knew. She liked her crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, her garden, and especially going out to lunch with family or friends. Rose was a dedicated longtime member of East Eddington Community Church, where she was a member of the ladies aide and the extension club. There are many wonderful memories of trips to Hampton Beach, where the whole family stayed and had some really great times.
She is survived by her children, Bob Wheelden and wife, Sally, of Bangor, Cathy Wheelden of Eddington and Tim Wheelden and wife, Bonnie, of Bangor; a brother, Donald MacDonald and wife, Eleanor, of Eddington; grandchildren, Melody, Crystal, Christy, Shawn, Alex and Timmy; great-grandchildren, KK, Ethan, JJ and Kayla; and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Wheelden; and siblings, Larry, Jan and Bob.
Friends may visit with the family 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A service of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at East Eddington Community Church, Eddington, with the Rev. Roger Tracy officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at the church. Condolences to the family may be expressed at
