BROCKTON, Mass. – Lola Etta Noyes Piers went to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 24, 2012. She was the wife of the late George F. Piers Jr. and daughter of the late Vinal and Gladys (Craig) Noyes. Born May 10, 1928, in Brookton, she resided in Brockton, Mass., for the past 63 years.

Prior to retirement, Lola took great pride in her nursing career; caring for patients at Goddard Hospital, Stoughton, Mass., for 43 years. She took pleasure in sharing her faith and love of life with all whom she interacted. Lola loved to spend time with her family and friends. Lola was the recording secretary of Deborah Sampson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was the adoring sister to the late Stephen Noyes, Vinal Noyes, Walter Noyes and the late Leonard Noyes. She was the loving and devoted mother of Sandra Stuart and husband, Ron, of Plymouth, Lorna Vasapollo and husband, Mike, of Brockton, Mass., Lola Piers of Brockton, Mass., and Vinal Piers and wife, Carol, of Lewisville, Texas. Lola was also the proud “Nana” to Christos, Taelese, George, Joshua, Daniel, Kayla, Joy, David, Angel, Amie-Jo, the late Timothy, as well as nine great-grandchildren. She was a shepherd to many wayward souls. She will be lovingly remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Visiting hours will be held 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, Mass. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Friday at Brockton Assembly of God, 199 Warren Ave., Brockton, Mass. Donations in Lola’s memory may be made to Friends of Cranberry Hospice, P.O. Box 1555, Duxbury, MA 02331-1555.
