NEW LIMERICK – Robert V. Watson, 83, went to be with his Lord, May 25, 2012, at his home with his family at his side. He was born June 30, 1928, in Fort Fairfield, son of Clifford and Eva (McFawn) Watson.

Bob was a lifelong farmer and trucker. His retirement hobby was running his sawmill. He enjoyed croquet, rook, antique tractor pulling and gospel concerts. He was very active in his church, County Road Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for 25 years and a Greater Houlton Christian Academy Association member. He married his wife, Norma (Ross), in 1950, and helped raise 10 children.

In addition to his wife of New Limerick, he is survived by eight children, Carl and Carmel Watson of Smyrna, Wayne Watson of New Limerick, Kris Watson of New Limerick, Brent and Karen Watson of Smyrna, Kent Watson of Smyrna, Kevin Watson of Littleton, Jamey and Ellen Watson of Youngstown, Ohio, and Lois and Glen Barnes of New Limerick; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Vera LeBlanc of Presque Isle; one brother, Graydon Watson of Patten; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; two children, Louise and Roy; one brother, Donald; and a sister, Kay.

Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at County Road Baptist Church where a funeral service will begin 4 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Carver officiating. Interment will be at New Limerick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greater Houlton Christian Academy, care of Bowers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 579, Houlton, ME 04730.
