MILFORD, Maine — A man suffered minor head injuries when the car he was a passenger in went off Stud Mill Road and into a bog about 4 p.m. Thursday, Fire Chief Chris Matson said.

The man, who was not identified, was in a car on Stud Mill near County Road when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, Matson said.

When firefighters arrived, they found that both occupants had gotten out of the vehicle and that the woman driving the vehicle had suffered no injuries. The man was hurt when his head hit the windshield, Matson said.

Firefighters cleaned up a small spill from the accident, Matson said.

      1. Not sure what is humorous about someone hitting their head on the windshield…..

        1.  Someone said “Maybe he’ll wear a seatbelt from now on”
to which I replied “Probably not, ha ha”

So my response had nothing to do with a windshield in fact when I originally commented that was the only comment on this page.

    1. It’s an older model impala, it may not have had a passenger side airbag.

I have hit my head on the windshield while wearing a seat belt, and since the article made no mention as to whether or not he was wearing one perhaps you should not be so quick to judge.

      1. Don’t forget that airbags are a called ‘supplemental restraint system’ secondary to and designed for use with a seatbelt and can be dangerous to an unbelted  occupant.

The only way to hit your head like that when belted is to be sitting too close to the dash and/or leaning forward. Having worked in a large dealership for 30 years, with a huge body shop attached, I’ve seen many hairy stars in windshields and the circumstances off the crashes.

      2. The car is not that old i am quite sure it has airbags but the airbags only go off when certain places and depending on how fast you are going and impact :)
