WINTHROP, Maine — Police say eight people have been taken to the hospital following a three-car crash in Winthrop.
Police say a car driven by 55-year-old Susan Chandonnet of Lewiston was headed east on Route 202 at about 6 p.m. Thursday when it was struck from behind by a car driven by 20-year-old Kayla Grant of Auburn.
Police told WMTW-TV that Grant’s vehicle then crossed into the westbound lane and was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 44-year-old Brenda Ross of Winthrop.
Grant and Ross as well as three passengers in each of their vehicles were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Police say the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The accident remains under investigation and there was no word on any charges.

Put down your frigin cell phones people when you are behind the wheel ! Most people dont have much common sense it seems these days….
Where does it say anything about a cell phone??????
Where did it say anyone was on a cell phone…
It dosent….yet ,but I bet it will soon
My friend Herbert George from Wells and his buddy Griffin were in the back seat of Grant’s car and Herbert looked at Griffin and stated that he didn’t see a thing.
It doesn’t matter exactly what she was doing, she was distracted or pre-occupied enough to slam into the rear of the vehicle in front of her.
