AUGUSTA, Maine — The National Weather Service is posting flood watches in parts of Maine and New Hampshire as 4 or 5 inches of rain are expected in many areas this weekend.

Rain moved into New Hampshire before dawn Saturday and spread to western Maine. By the time the heaviest rain starts tapering off early Monday, many areas will see 4 or 5 inches of rain and some areas even more.

The rain could cause many rivers and streams to overflow their banks, and coastal flooding is also likely.

    1. Look at the bright side, you might have a beach showing up at your reunion. Blow up the rafts anyway you might need them to go after hot dog buns….and more beer.

  2. Great and my driveway had a river running through it from the little shower we had the other day!

      1. The storm that I remember from then was further up the Conn. River and more on the Vermont side. I think they’re still recovering from that one! :)

  5. Let’s get this on now.  The summers are so short in this State that I’d prefer to get the rain over with in early June and have a few weeks of good weather in July and August.  Otherwise, what in the world are we doing here?

    1. I agree but it seems as soon as it does gets nice and it’s not raining….. out come the bugs!! I’m asking myself more & more what in the world am I doing here?

    2. Wow! who’s offering you a swap? It could rain then, too. I’m just busy getting my early summer ducks in a row….
