MADAWASKA – Evelyn Y. Dufour, 99, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born May 11, 1913, in Clair, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Joseph H. and Anastasie (Long) Lang.
She was a member of Daughters of Isabella, Madawaska. She worked at Fraser Paper, Madawaska, for many years as a secretary.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Cassie Long of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Leo James “Jack” Dufour; three brothers, Romeo, Leon and Leonide; and four sisters, Gertrude Plourde, Laura Mae Gagne, Lucienne Gagne and Jeannette Dionne.
Per Evelyn’s request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. June 19 at St. Thomas Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home. For online condolences, please visit
