BANGOR, Maine — A person driving on Interstate 95 saw a man assaulting a woman Friday evening and called police, who quickly caught up with the couple, Bangor police Detective Sgt. Paul Kenison said Monday.

Aaron Gregory, 23, of Corinth was charged about 6 p.m. with domestic violence assault and theft, the detective said.

“His significant other picked him up at a bar and was taking him home … when he began punching and choking the female,” Kenison said. “A witness saw this and followed the vehicle to Hayford Park” on Union Street.

Gregory got out of the car, driven by the 29-year-old female victim, before police arrived.

“They located the male subject nearby in a wooded area,” Kenison said.

Gregory was charged with theft because “he had taken some medications and a camera out of her purse,” the detective said.

Gregory was taken to Penobscot County Jail and later released, a jail official said.

  1. wow,, every day we get to see our fine undisciplined youth’s in action.. hmmmm, do you still think the timeout’s are working? lmao..

    1.  Back in my day a time out was my ol man taking time out of his busy day to break his foot off in my arz……..

    2. You assume he was not disciplined as a child.  I think just the opposite.  Adults who react violently were raised in violent homes.  This guy was probably abused as a child and witnessed the abuse of his mother.  It’s a vicious cycle, folks.

      1. I know this guy, and his family VERY well.  I can assure you, and I would swear on my son’s life, his father has never raised a hand to ANY of his 7 children or his wife.  He was raised to show others compassion and love, not violence.  This is the product of when people decide to do drugs, and go against EVERYTHING your parents have taught you.

        1. You never know what goes on in a family.  Outward appearances are sometimes just that.  I don’t know it to be true in this case, but it’s been my experience that sometimes the “best” families have the biggest problems.

  2. “taken to jail and later released”  What the?? No bail no nothing?  How in the world does that work?  What a little punk, there’s no way he should be able to get out just like that!!

    1. And this is someone I would call a violent offender.  No bail, jeepers!  Now she’ll get beat up again because it was all her fault.

      1.  Oh, she surely will, or even worse! And this guy is just a kid.  Wonder what he’ll be like in a few more years?–Especially if he keeps getting away with this.

    2. Unfortunately, the Defendant is guaranteed to be deprived of his 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendment Rights.  This is the corruption G. LePage was talking about.

    1. I’ve never understood how ANYONE would trust him (a known druggie) to clean their businesses.  He’s also supposedly going to school to be a teacher, and has even coached kids in soccer at a Christian School.    SCARY!!!

      1. He was in one of my classes at UCB.  I know him personally.  I will not trust him now.

        1. I also know him personally, for about 7 years now, and I’ve NEVER trusted him.  He has wonderful parents, and had so much potential, but this is what he’s become.  This is not the first girlfriend he’s tossed around.

          1. I always considered him a great guy though, great student.  I have a feeling i know who he tossed around this time and she has a young child.

          2. Unfortunately, this is NOT the first girl he has tossed around.  He has done this to several girlfriends, but was just never caught.  But, I’m sure there were two sides to those incidents, too, right?

  3. Another fine example of our modern society. It’s all part of “moving forward” I suppose.

  4. Hey Aaron, next time you feel like a big man and wanna smack someone around and choke someone, give me a call…I will give ya a shot.  Bout time these panzy woman beaters started getting a little of what they have been giving out.

  5. Good job to the witness who followed through on this, we need more people like you.
For the young lady who was attacked, run and don’t look back. I promise you’ll get this behind you.

  6. Unfortunately, A domestic violence charge in the State of Maine guarantees  a defendant to be deprived of his 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendment Rights.  This is exactly the type of corruption Governor LePage was talking about.  District Attorneys for the State of Maine have collaborated to completely ignore Maine Rules of Criminal Procedure, Rule 16, as the way it is written.

  7. These punks that beat on women, need to get a woman to kick the crap out of them just once.

  8. scumbags that hit women are cowards they know they wont get hit back man up take on another guy see what happens to you then ya might stop bullying a female your a poor excuse for a man little guy with big guy syndrome
