AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage announced Monday that his Judicial Selection Committee is accepting applications for candidates interested in serving as a district court judge.
The vacancy to be filled is the result of the retirement of district court Judge Jessie Gunther. The person selected to fill the vacancy will likely be assigned to Ellsworth District Court. As a result, applications for this vacancy will be considered from candidates who reside within reasonable commuting distance from Ellsworth, the governor’s office said.
“I am proud of my judicial nominees and am pleased that they have all been confirmed unanimously,” said LePage said in a statement. “I look forward to nominating another high-quality candidate to the bench.”
The Governor’s Judicial Selection Committee will accept applications until July 9. Interested individuals who have submitted an application since LePage took office do not need to reapply to be considered for the vacancy, the governor’s office said. I am sure LePage has an unemployed relative looking for work.
Yeah but I think this is a process a bit more complicated, too much drama for him to deal with, he rather just give the relative the job and tell everyone after the fact not before.
I’d apply as long as I got a case that involved LePage, otherwise I really don’t want it.

I can’t imagine that any pick could do much worse than many who are already there.
