JONESPORT and BRISTOL, Conn. – Raymond Thibodeau, 56, died unexpectedly June 16, 2012, at his home in Bristol, Conn. He was born May 2, 1956, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, the son of Gilberte (Theriault) Thibodeau.
Growing up in Van Buren, Raymond graduated from Van Buren High School, class of 1975. After high school he attended Washington County Vocational Technical Institute, currently Washington County Community College, Calais, studying home construction. He worked in many aspects of construction throughout his life and was an accomplished carpenter. After school he settled in Jonesport to raise a family. He participated in many family activities, such as Boy Scout master and Little League coach. Raymond is survived by two sons, Daniel Thibodeau and wife, Andrea, of Marshfield and Allan Thibodeau and wife, April, of Glenburn; two grandsons, Dawson and Micah Thibodeau of Glenburn; mother, Gilberte (Theriault) Thibodeau of Hamlin; two sisters, Velma Butler of Schuylkill Haven, Pa., and Lena Gibson of Hamlin; four brothers, Daniel Thibodeau and wife, Yvonne, of St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Dave Thibodeau and wife, Linda, of Terryville, Conn., Robert Thibodeau and wife, Debbie, of Bristol, Conn., and James Thibodeau and wife, Barbara, of Van Buren; special friends, Jeff Mazerolle of Bristol, Conn., and Tom O’Leary of Berlin, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Thibodeau; two sisters, Barbara and Evelyn Thibodeau; and brother, Gilbert Thibodeau. A graveside service will be held for family and close friends 5 p.m. June 23 at Bayview Cemetery, Jonesport. A celebration of life, with pot luck will after, will be held 6 p.m. at Community of Christ Church, Jonesport.
