LITTLETON and EAST MILLINOCKET – Charles Buddy Hobbs passed away June 20, 2012. Buddy was born March 18, 1932, in Littleton, son of George and Mina Vail Hobbs.
He attended school in Corinna, then enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War, 1950-1954. He moved to East Millinocket in 1954 and worked for Great Northern Paper Co. for 40 years as a paper maker.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sally; son, George and wife, Katherine; daughter, Fonda Merritt and husband, Maynard; three grandchildren, Tricia Hobbs, Casey and Danielle Merritt; one great-grandchild, Vincent Reardon; and special niece, Priscilla and husband, Tom Lanks. He was predeceased by two sisters, Maxine Tomer and Dorothy Jenkins; brother, Clarence Hobbs; and special nephew, Gary Jenkins. Many thanks to the Fayles brothers, Jeff and Earl, for the good times at their camps, hunting and fishing. Also the Levasseur boys, Rick and Steve, for taking him snowsledding; to the purple power gang; and special friend, Trevor Walts.
Graveside service will be announced at a later date.
