FRENCHVILLE – Normand “Bee” Ouellette, 86, passed away peacefully June 21, 2012, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 23, 1926, in St. Agatha, son of Joe Ouellette and Annie Gagnon Martin Ouellette.
Bee was treasured by so many and leaves behind a legacy of hard work, volunteering and dedication to his community. He was a veteran of World War II; member of Cyr-Plourde Post No. 145, fourth degree Knights of Columbus, St. Agatha, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fort Kent; chief ranger of Catholic Order of Foresters; past Frenchville firefighter; and worked 37 years for Fraser Paper, Madawaska. His volunteer list could go on and on, he touched many lives.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Stella Voisine Ouellette; daughters, Glenna and husband, Philip Guerrette, of St. Agatha and Paula Dumond of Frenchville; special daughter-in-law, Karen Ouellette of Fort Kent; special granddaughter, who he raised as his own, Kim Pelletier and husband, Donald, of Fort Kent; grandchildren, Ryan Guerrette and wife, Dawn, of New Jersey, Nicole Ouellette of Bar Harbor, Michelle Dubois and husband, Justin, of Fort Kent, Danielle Guerrette and fiance, Chad Pelletier, of Fort Kent, and Julie Dumond of Frenchville; and two great-grandchildren, Ella Dubois of Fort Kent and baby Guerrette, who is soon to arrive, of New Jersey. His surviving siblings include Normande Collin of Connecticut, Lucien Ouellette and wife, Clara, of Fort Kent, Cecile Morin and husband, Roland, of St. Agatha, Lucille Martin and husband, Leo James, of Frenchville, Evelyn Michaud and husband, Roland, of New Hampshire, J. Paul Ouellette and wife, Cleo, of Frenchville, and Rachel Ouellette of Connecticut; sisters-in-law, Janet Ouellette of Connecticut and Claudette Sirois and husband, Leo James, of Connecticut; and Brother Roland Ouellette Sacred Heart of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Roberta “Bonnie” St. George; son, Norman “Bim” Ouellette; brothers, Arthur, Oneil, Claude and Maurice Ouellette and Clifford Martin; sisters, Yvette Ouellette Plourde, Juliette Ouellette Lagasse, Yvette Martin Beaulieu and Bernadette Martin Bell; and son-in-law, David Dumond.
Friends and relatives may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday, June 24, and 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday, June 25, at Michaud Funeral Home, Frenchville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Valley Church, Frenchville, with the Rev. Richard Ouellette officiating. Burial at St. Luce Cemetery.
