VAN BUREN – Priscilla M. Dufour, 94, died June 24, 2012, at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born Nov. 30, 1917, in St. Agatha, the daughter of Albert and Zenaide (Audibert) Michaud.

Prior to moving to Van Buren with her husband and starting a family, she worked at Pratt & Whitney, Hartford, Conn., supporting the war effort. She was also employed for a short time as a teachers’ aide in SAD 24, and volunteered for many organizations during her years in Van Buren.

She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Unit 49, Van Buren; Daughters of Isabella, and was a lifelong supporter and participant in parish activities at St. Bruno’s Catholic Church. Before moving to Borderview herself at age 90, she often visited patients there as a friend and Eucharistic minister. During her long life, she traveled the world, loved to play golf, and took up the sport of cross-country skiing in her later years, earning her 50 Mile patch at age 75. She enjoyed that sport into her 80s.

Priscilla is survived by two sons, Roger Dufour and his wife, Marilyn, of Melbourne, Fla., and John Dufour and wife, Kathryn, of Lakeville, Mass.; two daughters, Dorothy Kamita and husband, Nobuyuki, of Sapporo, Japan, and Claire Gervais and husband, Pierre, of St. Leonard, New Brunswick; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raynaldo “Pete” Dufour, in 1972; her brothers, Valere, Fernand “Jack” and Clarence Michaud; her sister, Georgette Misiek; and her granddaughter, Erin Dufour.

There will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren.

Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Erin Elizabeth Dufour Memorial Nursing Scholarship, Brewer High School, 79 Parkway South, Brewer, ME 04412.
