BANGOR, Maine — Few details are available about an alleged stabbing at the Ramada Inn on Odlin Road that was reported early Saturday morning, Bangor police Lt. Steve Hunt said Sunday.

“Someone said they were assaulted with a knife at the Ramada,” the lieutenant said. “They received stitches” from an injury that is described as not life-threatening.

Police got a call from the assault victim about 2:45 a.m. on Saturday.

“The person went to the hospital and reported it from there,” Hunt said, declining to release the victim’s age, gender, where he or she is from and whether the stabbing occurred inside the motel, Barnaby’s bar or in the parking lot.

The victim should have called police when the incident occurred to ensure the suspect and all available witnesses could be interviewed, the lieutenant said.

  1. Ramada needs to raise it’s “bar”.  If you are a business traveler it is a shock to see a Ramada host this type of a crowd.   They should increase the door charge to $10 or $20 and free for guests..force a dress code.

    1. True, but this has created a bonanza for the mall area hotels, which are now the much better places to stay: the Courtyard by Marriott, the Hilton Garden Inn, and the about-to-open-brand-new-Hampton Inn.  (not the old Hampton, which becomes a Comfort Inn shortly).  Even the Hollywood Casino Hotel is doing better as a result, since the remaining Holiday Inn has also turned crappy.  The Odlin hotels have become a hive of scum and villainy.

  2. the victim should of called the police???
i think  i’d be getting to the hospital first.
what, you want him to hang around bleeding and file a report

    1. call the police and wait for the ambulance… sounds like a pretty smart idea to me.

      1. or jump in your car and be there an hour earlier

    2. Classic example of goof old Yogi Berra “nobody goes there anymoe because it’s too crowded”. It’s good to see some businesses in Bangor are doing well. I’m old but not too old to know stuff like this used to happen all the time. When you put tons of people through any business and sell them alcohol people get crazy. My guess is that is why they hire the PD. I wish the bounty tavern would have had cops, I would have 2 real teeth still, darn bouncers. Lol.

  3. the Ramada used to be a nice place now it appers to have become a toilet they have cops at the door makes me wanna go inside NOT

    1. They usually stick around for a bit afterwards too. I am almost surprised cops were not present. There is usually plenty of backup on the weekends too….. Must have recently left?

      Energy not inviting/comfortable…..

Employees are present at the hotel too to call if anything happens….

Fight broke out once police were right back.?.?.?

    2.  It’s a dive.  People are staying at the nicer hotels in the Mall area now, the one’s that don’t rely on bars to keep them in business.

      1. Amen.  A nice clean hotel doesn’t need a bar, unless it plans to rent excess room inventory by the hour as people hook up coming out of the bar, or are too drunk to drive home.

    3. I haven’t been to the Ramada in about 11 years.  They had cops at the door back then.  How long has that place been open, anyway?

    4. That must have been a REALLY long time ago. I’m 32 and since I can remember, it has always been a hole.

  4. That place is an absolute cesspool.  The owner must cry all the way to the bank.

  5. Same idiots crying the same game. Boo hoo.

Guy gets hit on the waterfront. Shut down the concerts.
Guy gets killed out in front of bar downtown. Shut it down.
Guy might effect my water supply. Don’t let the guy build quarry.
Guy get’s killed on First steet. Ban low income housing.
Guy get’s in fight at Barnaby’s, blah, blah, blah.

Let’s keep opening more methadone clinics though and giving away money to all the ones with a handout in Bangor.

    People and their priorities.

  6. last time I was there I interupted two drunk college guys at a side by side urinal involved in a quicky sex act…I walked out and re joined my girlfriend only to see them do the same with their girlfriends or wives….classy place…NOT…we left  lol

  7. Pool starting on how many months before the Ramada chain dumps the Odlin Road cesspool masquerading as a Ramada Inn….
    .
I predict 2 months, and it’s an “America’s Best Value Inn”.
