ROCKLAND, Maine — Two males got away Monday after vandalizing the Achorn Cemetery, according to police.

The males turned over a riding lawn mower and a cement bench and broke some flower vases, according to Deputy Rockland Police Chief Wally Tower.

Damage was estimated at $700. There was no immediate indication that any graves had been damaged, he said.

There was no description of the two people other then they were males. The cemetery staff pursued the pair when they fled on foot.

The incident was reported to police at noon.

  1. How could anyone consider it fun to vandalize a cemetery? Hope they are caught  and punished.
