BAILEYVILLE – Horace Dana Roberts, 61, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his home. Hoppy was born March 29, 1951, in Machias, to Dana and Juanita (Nason) Roberts.
He grew up in Northfield and moved to Baileyville in 1975 where he soon after met Eve Ring. Hoppy and Eve were married Oct. 4, 1986, in Baileyville. Together they enjoyed so many things, especially being outdoors, kayaking, canoeing, riding four-wheelers and most of all riding his Harley. Hoppy could have been called a professional putterer, he was always landscaping and working around the house. He was also an equipment operator at Baileyville Public Works for more than 34 years after spending some time with Georgia Pacific in the woods division.
In addition to his parents, Hoppy was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Roberts. Survivors include his wife, Eve (Ring) Roberts; sister, Martha and husband, Robert Quick II, of Florida; brothers, Thurman Roberts and special friend, Karen Lark, of Baileyville, and Martin Roberts of Boothbay Harbor; two nieces, Natalie and Lindsay Roberts; and two nephews, Robert Quick III and Nathan Roberts. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
