PORTLAND, Maine — Every week, Bollard publisher and BDN columnist Chris Busby will take a humorous look at Maine politics. This week, Chris strolls through the Munjoy Hill neighborhood where Sussman now owns property and surely spends the bulk of his time.

Last week Chris explored possible far-reaching consequences of the governor’s controversial decision to remove a mural from the Maine Department of Labor offices.

    1. So when did it stop being a high crime area ?
It sure was in my life time, and it was lucky to avoid the federal urban renewal wrecking ball, like fixed downtown Bangor .

But more to point who is hypocritically being against private investment as the only solution, because they do not like the politics of the private investor ?

Conservatives have nothing if they don’t get to have things two different ways at once.

LOL at this  cynical bit that decries the conservatives own solutions, when they actually happen.

  1. true, but this area isn’t Munjoy Hill..this is below the hill and is the area surrounded by Congress St, Franklin St, India St and Middle St…I believe some people have actually referred to it as Rebeco? (rectangle below congress st) and it is an area that could definitely use some help!

  2. Is this presented by the same BDN that stopped providing health care for retirees last year? They dumped at least 109 retirees saying “too bad” “so long” you should have asked for money while you were working instead of trusting us.

  3. Geta haircut and geta real job!

Clean your act up and don’t be a slob,

Get it together like your big brother Bob,

Geta Haircut and get a realllllll job!

  4. Sussman’s neighborhood?  This is my neighborhood too – has been for 11 years.  We’re thrilled that Mr. Sussman is revitalizing a part of our neighborhood that has been in disrepair for years.  His proposed project will be a great addition to Portland’s best and most interesting area!

  5. Er, my understanding is that Sussman’s “neighborhood” is Chocolate Hole, St. John, Virgin Islands.  Unless that has formally changed, he’s pulling economic benefits and is taxed (or was) in the Virgin Islands.
