SANFORD, Maine — The Sanford Police Department is investigating an accident Friday afternoon in which a boy on a skateboard suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a commercial vehicle.
The accident happened shortly before 3 p.m, while the boy — whose name and age were withheld Friday night — was crossing Lebanon Street near the intersection of Nason Street, Sanford Police Chief Thomas P. Connolly Jr. said in a news release.
The commercial vehicle that struck the boy was traveling east, Connolly said.
