BUCKSPORT – Kitty Rosebush, 83, died peacefully Monday, July 9, 2012, at Colonial Acres Nursing Home, Lincoln. Her positive outlook, unwavering faith and her remarkable sense of humor made a lasting impression on everyone she knew. Kitty was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Orono, the daughter of Perley C. and Kathleen M. (Sullivan) LeClair.

She graduated from Bucksport High School and attended Beal’s Business College. After raising her family in Buffalo, N.Y., and later Lawrence, N.J., Kitty returned home to Bucksport to assist her parents.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two children, the Rev. Joseph M. Rosebush and wife, Anna, of Calais and Dr. Lynn Rosebush Dutton and husband, Bob, of Grandview, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Michael Garron and wife, Aiza, of Shiloh, Ill., Michelle LoBue and husband, Marc, of Washburn, Sarah Glidewell of Calais, Frederick Rosebush and wife, Lydia, of Louisville, Ky., Matthew Rosebush and wife, Priya, of Fairfax, Va., Kathleen Mori and husband, Rintaro, of Newmarket, N.H., and Orrinda Appleby of Bucksport; and 16 great-grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by her brother, John LeClair and wife, Ann, of Clearwater, Fla.; and her sister, Joyce (LeClair) Violette and husband, Henry, of Orland. Her numerous nieces and nephews will miss her gentle guidance, compassion and her reassuring smile. Kitty was predeceased by her devoted husband, Frederick J. Rosebush; brothers, James F. LeClair and Robert C. LeClair; and great-granddaughter, Madison Hope Stith.

Kitty was a lifelong member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, with Father Bruce Siket, celebrant. Interment will be afterward at Silver Lake Cemetery, Silver Lake Road, Bucksport. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kitty’s memory may be made to St. Vincent De Paul, P.O. Box S, Bucksport, ME 04416 and/or Buck Memorial Library, P.O. Box DD, Bucksport, ME 04416. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.

  1. She was so much fun to know and I know she will be sadly missed by all her nursing home friends in Calais. Kitty used to eat at the same table with my Mom and she always made for a very interesting conversation. RIP Kitty.
