CHINA, Maine — Police are not releasing how a man in China was mortally injured Friday night but they have deemed his death suspicious and are investigating, Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said Saturday morning.

“We have a pretty good idea how the man died,” he said. “We’re waiting for the autopsy to tell us” the exact cause.

James Dodge, 38, of 324 Hanson Road, was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta at about 9 p.m. and died at the hospital. His autopsy is scheduled to take place Sunday at the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta.

Police detectives interviewed three people in the home at the time of the fatal injury, and all “have been cooperating with the investigation,” McCausland said in a press release. “No charges have been filed at this point and police Saturday continued to be at the house and were in the process of gathering evidence as they investigate the circumstances of the death.”

Maine State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Love is at the scene and is supervising the investigation.

        1. Off the top of my head I’m thinking accident, suicide or over dose.  Any one of those could be investigated.  I’m not saying that any of those are what happened then again I can’t really say it was murder yet either.  We’ll just have to wait and see.  My condolences to the family.  I’m sorry for your loss.

          1. It could really mean anything.  Most likely he was murdered and they are just keeping it quiet now, rest in peace Sir
