BANGOR, Maine — A woman was arrested and charged with domestic assault after stabbing her husband during an argument between the Brewer couple at a friend’s apartment late Saturday afternoon.

Bangor police officers responded to a report of an assault at 175 Hammond St. at 4:40 p.m. Saturday.

Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards confirmed that officers found a 49-year-old male victim bleeding from a stab wound that left a 3-inch gash in his left shoulder. The man was transported by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center at approximately 5:20 p.m. with what appeared to be an injury that was not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, the man’s wife — Jacqueline Williams, 45, of Brewer — was no longer at the premises and officers began a search for her. She was located walking down Hammond Street within a few minutes after officers arrived on the scene.

Witnesses who were present in the apartment — and the victim — told police that an argument broke out between Williams and her husband, and at some point Williams became angry, ran to the kitchen, grabbed a large knife and swung it at the victim, cutting him once on the shoulder.

Williams was later arrested for Class B felony elevated aggravated assault and misdemeanor domestic assault. She remains at Penobscot County Jail on a $5,060 cash bail.

Williams’ husband’s was treated and released Saturday, according to EMMC and Edwards.

    1.  Maine should print up flyers to send as far as Mass, Florida, and even California raving about the ease of access people can get for free welfare without proving you actually have no income.
