FORT KENT – Martha Tardif, 85, died peacefully July 20, 2012, at a Fort Kent health facility. She was born July 14, 1927, in Daigle, daughter of Aime and Delia (Soucy) Nadeau.
Martha was the owner and operator of Chez Francois Dress Shop, Fort Kent, for 10 years. She loved flowers. She was very passionate about saying her rosary daily. Martha was a very giving person. She often donated to several religious organizations. She was a member of Ladies of St. Anne.
Martha is survived by six children, Sylvia Tardif and significant other, Marcel Long, of St. Hiliare, Leonard and his wife, Cindy Tardif, of Fort Kent, Sharon and her husband, Paul Harvey, of Richmond, Elaine and her husband, Darold Bossie, of Fort Kent, Daniel and his wife, Monica Tardif, of Fort Kent and Louise and her husband, Rodney Dionne, of Fort Kent; one sister, Emelda Fox of Greensborough, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by two daughters, Anne Marie and Karen Marie; her husband, Raoul Tardif, in 2001; one sister, Bernadette Michaud; and six brothers, Norman, Wilfred, Bernard, Patrick, Gerard and Elude “Pete” Nadeau.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 23, and 8 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal service will be afterward in the parish cemetery.
