EASTON – Mona G. Adams, 92, quietly passed away Saturday night, July 21, 2012, at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. She was born Sept. 6, 1919, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Ashby A. and Nellie M. (Kinney) Foren.
Mona grew up in Easton, graduated from Easton High School in 1938 and went on to earn her beautician’s license from Eastern Academy of Beauty, Bangor, where she later taught. Having a strong work ethic, Mona was also involved in the farming industry both on family owned farms and other related farming industries.
Mona is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, C. Kempton Adams of Easton; son, Vincent Tyler Mahany and wife, Astrid, of New Gloucester; daughter, Pamela Ann Best and husband, Rick, of Deptford, N.J.; brother, Claude A. Foren and wife, Shirley, of Haines City, Fla.; special nieces and their husbands, Lynda and Hugh Turner of Easton and Susan and Lance Lamoreau of Bangor; five loving and caring grandsons, several great-grandchildren and great-nephews; and lifelong dear friend, Jean Lamoreau of Easton.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at Mount Shilo Cemetery, Easton, with Pastor Sue Brown officiating. A celebration of Mona’s life will be held for family and friends immediately after the service at the home of Lynda and Hugh Turner.
