BANGOR, Maine — A Lincoln couple involved in a brawl earlier this week in which knives and a walking stick reportedly were wielded remained Friday night at the Penobscot County Jail unable to make bail set earlier in the day.
District Court Judge Charles Dow set bail at $3,000 cash for each of the defendants.
Walter Cote III, 42, and Andrea Carlow, 21, were charged with aggravated assault in what was a family dispute outside a residence at 219 Enfield Road in Lincoln over a smashed sliding glass door at a relative’s Taylor Street house recently, according to court documents. What apparently began as a verbal altercation quickly escalated into blows.
The two were arrested Wednesday night by Lincoln police.
Cote and Carlow are not expected to enter pleas to the charges until they have been indicted next month by the Penobscot County grand jury.
Through the lawyer of the day, Jeremiah Haley of Bangor, Carlow told Dow that she and Cote, her boyfriend, got involved in the fight in an attempt to defend Cote’s 16-year-old son.
At least three people were stabbed in the incident, including a 25-year-old man from Arlington, Mass., who required surgery, and two Lincoln women, one who is 24 and another who is 26. The women were treated at Penobscot Valley Hospital and released, according to court documents. Information about the man’s condition was not available Friday afternoon.
Lincoln police Officer Mark J. Fucile said Friday after Cote and Carlow’s court appearance that the incident still was under investigation. He declined to say whether a knife or other weapons had been recovered.

couple of lincoln’s finest right there now. maybe they should move to bangor…
How about the windows that have been smashed and pool sliced in the past few weeks, that alledgedly these two did. I’m pretty amazed that channel five news called her his “fiance”. hell wasnt 2 weeks ago she was living with another man.
Love is in the Air
In Lincoln, in don’t think that is love.
She was 5 when his son was born. He was twenty when she was born
Is the sliding glass door worth that much to cause these two to wreak havoc on those now injured people? Just think–all that energy gone to waste.
Note to PCJ: Check white balance before taking mug shots.
Note to jbyntn: dont assume that was a recent photo… duh, does he look 42 in that picture????
Does Mr Cote have purple skin?
Everyone, please be careful to read BDN’s policy regarding what is appropriate for a post. I just returned from a 2 week banishment because I made a comment that would have passed the US Supreme Court’s test for acceptable first amendment free speech. Unfortunately, I learned that freedom of the press does not extend to freedom for bloggers as guests of the press.
Just curious…..how did you know you were banned for two weeks? Did BDN notify you of this, or would your comments just not post? I’m wondering, because sometimes my comments won’t post. I thought it was my computer or the internet.
It says; “The site has blocked you from posting new comments.”
This is why these scumbags continue to career felons, 3k bail……unreal…
BDN, you are amazing. First you remove my post, then you put my kid’s pic up there ONCE AGAIN, in connection with this story? DO YOU GET OFF ON THIS OR WHAT?
why the blue face little buddy?
