FALL RIVER, Mass. – Stella E. (Edgecomb) Anderson, 86 of Fall River, Mass., formerly of Newington, Conn., passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, in Adams’ House, Fall River, Mass. She was the wife of Edward D. Anderson to whom she had been married for 58 years. She was born in Limestone, daughter of the late Burnice and Jennie (Burtchell) Edgecomb.
Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of Maine General Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse for more than 25 years at the VA Hospital in Newington, Conn. She served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during the Korean War until her honorable discharge in 1954.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Debra A. Felder and her husband, Lloyd, and Pamela A. Williams and her husband, Scott, all of Dartmouth, Mass.; three grandchildren, Laura and Daniel Felder and Lia Williams; a brother, Burnice Edgecomb; a sister, Gertrude Boyd; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Frances Lake.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Relatives and friends are invited.
