BREWER, Maine — A Bangor man who broke into a service station on July 20 is facing burglary charges, according to police.

Jeremy Larochelle, 32, broke into Cowan’s service station on South Main Street in the overnight hours on July 20, according to Brewer police Lt. Chris Martin.

Larochelle smashed through a window to gain entry to the store, Martin said, and fled with cigarettes and lottery tickets.

A subsequent investigation by Detective Sgt. Jay Munson and Detective Fred Luce led police to Larochelle, and he was arrested and charged with burglary and summoned for theft on July 27.

Larochelle remains at the Penobscot County Jail Thursday. He faces up to five years in jail if convicted of the burglary charge.
