BANGOR, Maine — Two Honduran citizens are facing charges in U.S. District Court after being arrested Monday in western Maine.
Jose Ramon Reina Coca, 41, of Maryland was charged with possession of a false identification document.
Mauro Edulio Jimenez-Banegas, 47, a transient, is charged with being found in the U.S. after having been removed or deported.
Both men are being held without bail pending the resolution of their cases.
The men came to the attention of law enforcement Monday when a Maine game warden approached the parked car in which they were sitting because it did not have a license plate, according to court documents. Reina Coca and Jimenez-Banegas gave the warden identification from Honduras but did not have immigration documents that would have permitted them to work, travel or reside in the U.S.
The two were taken to the border patrol station in Rangeley, according to court documents. Officials found fake permanent resident and Social Security cards in Reina Coca’s belongings, according to court documents. He told investigators that he had paid $180 for them.
An immigration records check showed that Jimenez-Banegas has been removed from the U.S. many times, most recently in June 2008 after serving a nearly four-year sentence for violating immigration laws.
He admitted that he re-entered the U.S. last year by wading across the Rio Grande, according to court documents.
If convicted, Reina Coca faces up 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Jimenez-Banegas faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
Probably a couple of those illegals sneakin up here to take the best jobs and sneak a vote or 2

Uhm sorry to burst your bubble, but a prison sentence would cost us tax payers money just as holding them in jail would. Even if we deport them, that costs money to transport them back. So either way you look at it, these illegals are costing a boat load.
Send them back to their country. Do you want to pay for their medical and dental??? That sends the wrong message to the illegals, get to America and go to jail, Great health care and dental care. Wake Up America.
Thousands of illegals are still deported for crimes committed in the US but many return to the US within days or weeks using all the money they wired to their home country beforehand. It’s all in vain if we refuse to secure our borders.

This is part of President Obama’s claim today that job growth this month is up. Well, yes because the thousands of immigrant (some illegal) come to this country to work for 2 months and then leave with wads of 100$.00 bills then ok.
Send them back cheaper than keeping them with free room, board, medical and free gym time. Costs money to keep em so send em and send em and send em …..But stand them back at the edge of the Rio Grande and make them walk back over themselves. Might as well get more practice in and will save us a little in gas money.

Long before Obama came up with his new kingly decree, his best buddy, the Gov. of Mass, refused to report any illegals found in his “Haven State” to the Fed data base and would take no action unless a ‘serious and violent’ crime had been committed. Frustrating as all get-out to those that follow the rules!

Yes, the Obama administration is terrible on immigration enforcement; but, as a retired Border Patrol agent I can say that no administration since 1969, at least, has been much better. Nor has Congress done anything about it. Some politicians give “lip service” to enforcing the immigration laws, but when it comes right down to it, they all have their reasons for not pushing the issue. Unless, and until, Americans put a lot more pressure on our politicians to do something about immigration enforcement, nothing will change.
How about another 4 year prison sentence for both then deportation. Guess this guy likes jail time and came back for more.
As someone who has spent 4 months in Honduras, send these men back home. Its worse than any prison could ever be.
