BROOKS, Maine — A Swanville man accused of violently assaulting a woman last week at the Community Park in Brooks is being held in jail on $50,000 cash bail.
Police said that Timothy Bucklin, 50, had been in Bangor on Thursday and had brought a woman with him back to Brooks. The two ended up in the park, according to Chief Deputy Jeff Trafton of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, and things grew tense between them.
“He grabbed at her,” Trafton said. “She didn’t cooperate.”
Bucklin allegedly attempted to sexually assault the woman, then choked her until she blacked out, she told police later. He then ran off into the woods, according to Trafton.
The victim called police and told them she’d been assaulted or raped. Then another woman called to report that she had been at the park too and saw the victim by the swingset, picking items off the ground.
The witness walked over because something didn’t look right, and saw blood on the victim’s face. The victim said that she had been assaulted by a man.
Police ended up tracking Bucklin down at the Hannaford in Belfast, where they arrested him and charged him with unlawful sexual contact and aggravated assault.
Bucklin was taken to Waldo County Jail in Belfast to be booked and has since been transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
A Waldo County Jail official said Monday that his bail was set by a judge last week at $50,000 cash or $100,000 surety.

hey You should know this guy is a murder prolee from FL. He skipped his first meeting, came to Maine. He was arrested and release because neither FL nor Maine want to pay for extridition or his medical needs. If you know this Lady or her Family they should be looking into this and sueing both FL and Maine
He beat Harry Dyer to death until the point he was unrecognizable. Then robbed him for $48 bucks.
