PARIS, Maine — A Rumford man is in custody in connection with an alleged heroin ring broken up last month.
Logan David-Craig White, 23, of 205 Cumberland St., is being held at the Oxford County Jail on a count of aggravated drug trafficking and criminal conspiracy.
In district court here Monday, attorney Sarah Glynn said White was in Connecticut when he learned he had been accused of distributing heroin. She said he drove back to Maine and turned himself in.
According to court documents by Maine Drug Enforcement agent Tony Milligan, White distributed more than 270 bags of heroin to Daniel Richard and Corey Edingbourgh, who were arrested July 11 on heroin trafficking charges. Police said the men were involved in distributing up to 4,700 bags of heroin per week to the River Valley.
In two raids in July, police and MDEA agents found and seized 420 bags of heroin, marijuana, $500 in suspected drug proceeds, drug scales and other related evidence.
White’s bail was set at $100,000 cash or $50,000 surety, or a contract with Maine Pretrial Services. His arraignment was set for Nov. 6 in Oxford County Superior Court.

One of the more disheartening aspects of living in rural Maine is the incredible number of drug addicts the state produces. Crazy.
Yeah, and there lies the root of the problem. The state PRODUCES drug addicts. Perhaps its time we tackle that issue, instead of simply focusing only on arresting the people who are products of a clearly broken system. Not really too logical mopping up water when you could potentially stop the leak.
