BREWER, Maine — An Eddington woman was arrested last week on drug and drunk driving charges after the vehicle she was driving drifted into a lane that a Brewer police officer was driving in.
When Brewer police Officer Liz Kelley pulled the vehicle over on North Main Street shortly after 11 p.m. last Wednesday night, she suspected that the driver — 39-year-old Julie Ring — had been drinking, Brewer police Lt. Chris Martin said Wednesday, citing an arrest report.
As a result of Ring’s performance of field sobriety tests, Ring was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence, Martin said.
Martin said an inventory of Ring’s vehicle after the arrest turned up diverted pharmaceutical opiates as well as drug paraphernalia, which resulted in charges of Class B felony possession of scheduled drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

…and another candidate for loser of the week.
I never knew that there were so many righteous people in Maine. I am proud to be from Maine, but there is so many people that cast stones at people they don’t even know. I am not defending this woman by no means because she could of just as easily hit or nearly hit a family with children, pedestrian, or animal. Ms. Ring you need to seek help,alcohol/drugs will NEVER fix anything but make life worse…Good Luck.
Yes there MUST be a program out there that she qualifies for. Maybe she just likes to party or whatever and doesn’t want any “help”. You can’t fix everything with a social program nor can you impose common sense.
Before you feel too much sympathy for this lady, keep something in mind-she was in possession of drugs that were diverted from their intended use -helping patients (not her) relieve real pain. My daughter is a pharmacist. Her and her c0-workers work in a pretty scary environment due to criminals like her that may not have actually stolen the drugs directly-but end up with them for personal use or resale.
Thank you Mindy, for saying what I wanted to say. These people do need help, and nobody has a right to judge this woman, PERIOD.
WESTSHORES – Are you a perfect person? Have you never done anything wrong in your life? Perhaps this woman is a recovering addict, perhaps it has been a life long struggle for her. Have you ever been addicted to any drug? It’s hell, and it’s harder than you can ever imagine to get clean. PEOPLE, STOP JUDGING OTHERS, YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE.
If she had run into you and your family head on-would you still be defending her? Her and people like her have not affected you personally-not yet anyway, but when they do-and they will- you’ll sing a different song.
Life long struggle for her. Everyone has struggles in life so I guess everyone is a victim. People have got to be held accountable for their actions, period.
I have sympathy for her AND I hope she is held accountable for her actions. Period.
Why are you yelling?
Anoyher one NOT to take home to your mom
unless yer mom likes ladies who are complete (almost literally) wrecks.
Good grief woman, it’s a car not a skateboard-it comes with a “steering wheel.”
use it.
oops…now that’s bad timing.
39 huh?…wow, the years have been hard….
I’d hit that!
Yup…..:-)
Wow…she looks more closer to 59!!! People, stay off drugs and slow down on the booze, my god!!!!! Just lucky she was caught drifting in the other lane and didn’t hit a family head on!! This story could have been much worse!!!
If she’s not a dead ringer fror Courtney Cox (Monica Geller ) from Friends-nobody is……
lol yeah what a babe !!!
39 and holding! Holding everything!
Why is it necessary to comment on this woman’s looks? What does that have to do with anything re the crime? True, she probably looks the worse for wear because alcohol and other drugs take their toll. But the mean comments are unnecessary.
A typical example of what alcohol and drugs do to a body. 39 years old, she looks like at least 60, not that she will ever see that birthday.

isn’t she lovely…
Ms Ring. I do hope you get help. You could have killed yourself and others. Do you really want to be thinking of that for the rest of your life? At the age of 39, you still have a long time to live, if and I say if, you clean up, dry out, and take care of yourself. If you continue well………. you figure it out.
Addicts do not care who they injure or kill. Glad she was cited before she hurt somebody.
That’s your opinion.
It is part of the disease of addiction that makes these people only care about themselves & where their next fix is coming from. A known fact, any recovering addict will attest to this.
